Dill Mill Gayye, known as DMG, is one of the most watched Indian television serials that airs on STAR One from Monday to Thursday at 8:30 PM IST. It is the sequel of the TV series Sanjivani. Dill Mill Gayye is a show aimed at urban educated youth. Set in Sanjeevani Hospital, it deals with the lives of young doctors.

Dr. Shashank Gupta
He is the head of Sanjivani Hospital and has spent his entire career as a doctor for this hospital and its patients. He is considered a 'God' in the world of surgery and all interns wait for an opportunity to assist him in the operation theater. Dr Shashank is an idol not only for interns but also the doctors of Sanjeevani. Dr Shashank's two daughters, Ridhima and Anjali, are the world to him and he wishes only that they become doctors. Ridhima and Anjali do their internship at Sanjieevani but get no special treatment for being the daughters of the head of the hospital. Married to Ridhima mom Sister Padma.

Ridhima's weak spot is Anjali, as she allows Anjali to always get the better of her due to her own sweet nature. Another intern, Armaan, irritates her to the point of losing her temper. She falls in love with Armaan but her ego drives them apart and they had a on-off relationship. She is now very stone hearted because her finance Armaan died now she is always fighting with an immature intern Sid

Dr Anjali GuptaAnjali at 22, is Shashank's older daughter and is used to having her way. Extremely beautiful, she is quiet conscious of her looks and not above using them. She is manipulative and conniving. She is a good doctor in her own right, though she is never a favourite amongst the patients, owing to her to-the-point attitude. Her ultimate aim is to be the head of Sanjivani, as she will have power and respectability, and make her the fitting heir apparent to Shashank's legacy. She will employ all the methods of saam, daam, dand and bhed to get whatever she sets her eyes on. Anjali's manipulative ways are most obvious in the way she handles her sister Ridhima. She is also protective about Ridhima. Being her grandma's favourite she helps set her father up with nurse Padma knowing he needs a life partner. Even though she is hounded by lovestruck Atul, she handles him with maturity. She went to America to finish some of her medical studies and she might come back.

Atul is the best guy friend a girl can ever have, without ever making him a real boyfriend. He is a good natured, easy going boy, who has become a doctor to fulfill the wish of his dead father. His father worshiped Sanjeevani and Shashank Gupta and he has come to pay his tribute to the man who adopted him. He is always treated like one of the girls when girlie talks are being discussed. When he realizes certain people cannot be changed, he empties trash, puts cups in trash and carries his own porcelain cup so that the use of Styrofoam cups in Sanjivani can be reduced. He likes Anjali but Anjali never takes him seriously. He loves Anjali and he had to repeat his internship because his hand got shot but later on he took a test and now he is a doctor.

He liked one girl-'Sonia'in his college who in turn liked Armaan. He is now in Sanjeevani and is out to trouble Armaan. But now he and Armaan have patched things up and everyone likes him now. He had to leave Sanjivani because his dad had cancer so he left without saying goodbye. He later on came back. He loves muskaan a lot and they even had a one night stand the night he came back but he left her because he cannot have any kids and left Sanjivani.

She loves her 'Dhanu' or her Scooty a lot. Dr. Keerti often lectures her because of her foolish but funny questions. She can make one laugh with her Punjabi jokes and bad words. She and Rahul are pretending to be married. Rahul one day left without saying goodbye then she became depressed. When Rahul came back, she was mad at him because he just left. She loves rahul so much and doesnt understand why rahul doesnt want to be with her because he cant have kids, after getting dumped by Rahul again and again she went back to Sanjivani Amritsar and the bubbly, joking muskaan was gone

She was a new intern and Armaans best friend in college, she did have feelings for Armaan in college but she couldn't admit it so she left college not telling anyone, she came back to india because her offer in Sanjivani but she didnt know armaan was working their but she sucked it up and faced her problems. She got over Armaan and starting have feelings for Dr Abhi and had an on-off relationship when they wanted to get married Abhi wife came and they broke up and now she is depressed and very stone hearted. She is now a residential Doctor
Dr Abhimunyu Modi
He came along when Sanjivani was having financial problems. He did have some conflict with Armaan but they patched up. He use to have feelings for Ridhima but it was just a crush. He loves Dr Nikita but his wife showed up and they both broke up. His cousin Siddarth Modi is now an intern at Sanjeevani and he is responsible for him, Abhi tries to keep him out of trouble but Sid is too much of a kid

Dr. Shubhankar
He is the head cardiologist of Sanjivani and is very dedicated and efficient in his work. He lost his wife in an accident and was depressed about it, but in a period of time, he recovered from it. He has a small bubbly daughter. He likes Keerti a lot, but feels shy to tell her. he is now finally married to doctor keerti after admitting with a lot of courage he loves her

She is Dr. Smriti's mother(Anjali Mother) and is very sweet, loving and caring. She loves Ridhima and Anjali a lot. She knows that Shashank has feelings for Padma and as she lost her daughter, and she wants someone to take care of Shashank, Ridhima and Anjali. Hence, she and Anjali are matchmakers for Padma and Shashank.
She is Dr. Smriti's mother(Anjali Mother) and is very sweet, loving and caring. She loves Ridhima and Anjali a lot. She knows that Shashank has feelings for Padma and as she lost her daughter, and she wants someone to take care of Shashank, Ridhima and Anjali. Hence, she and Anjali are matchmakers for Padma and Shashank.
Sister Padma
She is the head nurse of Sanjivani and also Ridhima's birth mother. She is very loving, caring, sweet and good at heart. She never wanted to tell Riddhima that she is her mother, but somehow, she was very unfortunate and somehow Ridhima came to know. She has special feelings for Shashank. She takes a lot of care of Dr. Shashank and his family. She has placed herself as a family member of the Gupta family now. She also know that Ridhima loves Armaan somewhere in her heart and had a part in getting them together.
She is the head nurse of Sanjivani and also Ridhima's birth mother. She is very loving, caring, sweet and good at heart. She never wanted to tell Riddhima that she is her mother, but somehow, she was very unfortunate and somehow Ridhima came to know. She has special feelings for Shashank. She takes a lot of care of Dr. Shashank and his family. She has placed herself as a family member of the Gupta family now.
